Today, President Broderick sent an email alerting the campus community that the campus will reopen for the fall semester and provided the blueprint created by the Steering Committee on Academic and Student Involvement of how the campus will operate once it is open.

The fall 2020 semester is set to start August 15th and end before Thanksgiving Break on November 25th. The blueprint also states that there will not be a fall break during the semester and that the university will implement COVID-19 testing procedures throughout the campus.

Students will still be able to do in-person class instruction but there will be modifications to classroom capacity. Some labs being taught on weekends due to requirements for physical distancing. The university says they plan on providing in-person and online instruction to as many students as possible during the upcoming semester but will follow state and federal health and safety guidelines.

Additionally, the university will implement synchronous web course delivery which is live videoconferencing of course instruction that is interactive between the professor and students. Course recordings will also be available to classes.

Student Engagement and Enrollment services will soon be providing guidelines on the new transitions for the fall semester which will include more information on housing, campus activities, campus dining, health and counseling support, and events on campus.
