English Showcase Week is in full swing at Old Dominion University.
The showcase week started on Apr. 21 with an Alumna Talk with Chantal Hopewell, an ODU graduate currently working as the Senior AI Compliance Specialist at Amazon. The event served as an open discussion on educational pathways spanning across several fields.
The English Awards Ceremony was also held on Apr. 21, where the recipients of several scholarships and awards were honored with certificates denoting their achievements. Isabella Fernandez, a graduating senior, was the chosen recipient of the Outstanding Student in English award.
English Showcase Week continues on Apr. 23 with the General Education Poster Session from 12 to 2 p.m. in room 3067 of the Batten Arts & Letters (BAL).
Grounds For Conversation, an opportunity to connect and converse with faculty, will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Apr. 24 in the Richards Room on the fifth floor of BAL.
Senior capstone and internship students will display the research they conducted for their various projects at the Research Poster Showcase, which will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the BAL Lobby on Apr. 24.
Sigma Tau Delta will also host a poetry reading event from 6 to 8 p.m. on Apr. 24. At this time, no location has been specified.
