To celebrate Women’s History Month, Old Dominion University is hosting a Women in Comedy night on March 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the North Cafe. The show will feature two professional comedians, Ester Steinberg and Janae Burris.

Ester Steinberg is a New York-based comedian, actress, and writer. Her most recent stand-up special is called Burning Bush, which premiered back in 2022. Her Kibitz Room Comedy Show was featured in Time Out LA. Steinberg starred in Funny Girls, a reality show about female comedians living in LA. She also acted in an episode of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Janae Burris is a comedian based in Denver, Colorado, and regularly hosts S— Talk Tours at the Museum of Contemporary Art. She has been featured at Portland’s Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival in Bloomington Ind, Telluride Blues Fest and High Plains Comedy Festival, headlined at Ha Ha Harvest in Portland and Aspen Laugh Fest, and showcased at NACA West, Midwest and Central.
