Isn’t this what you’ve been waiting for? Monarch Basketball is back!

Old Dominion hosted Virginia Wesleyan in their exhibition game to kick off the season this past Thursday at the Ted Constant Center.

The Monarchs have on their roster this season some key returning players. Ahmad Caver led all scorers with 28 points, four rebounds and two steals. B.J. Stith contributed 11 points and six rebounds.

The team added two, seven-footers this season, Elbert Robinson and Dajour Dickens both combined their game for 13 points and eight rebounds.

When time was running low in the fourth quarter, Monarch cheerleaders and fans were chanting for Wesleyan to “warm up their bus!” the buzzer sounded leaving the final score 83-54. With Virginia Wesleyan being a division III school the Monarchs were expected to win, however, we did not see the talent of the team in full effect, yet. Fans did receive a sample of how the team will play together this season adding all the new faces.

The Monarchs will tipoff the 2018-19 season Tuesday, Nov. 6. at the Ted Constant Center hosting Navy at 7:00 p.m. The game will also stream live on C-USA TV. You don’t want to miss it. Go Monarchs!
